The Shepherd of the Hills is an action-packed live reenactment of Harold Bell Wright’s novel about life in the rugged Ozarks with themes of love, power and hardship. The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama is performed at the Thurman Old Mill Theatre on the Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead, located at 5586 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO 65616.
The show is approximately two hours.
There is a pre-show dinner 2 hours before showtime for an additional $20 - included with the Buck’s BBQ & Bluegrass Bash Pre-Show Dinner ticket. Enjoy a delicious BBQ meal while the Foggy Minded Fountain Boys play. The pre-show lasts approximately 45 minutes.
The show's director makes the determination when inclement weather threatens the performance. If it becomes necessary to cancel the performance, the decision will likely be made one hour before show time. Guests with tickets can exchange those tickets for another performance or receive a full refund.

Yes, the Thurman Old Mill Theatre has wheelchair seating. The Jeep-drawn trams from the parking lot to the theater are equipped with ramps, and the drivers are trained to assist with loading and unloading wheelchairs.
Each of the actors wears a tiny wireless microphone, and the theater has a state-of-the-art sound system so you should be able to clearly hear even the smallest whisper.
Shepherd of the Hills has Jeep-drawn trams that pick visitors up in the parking lots and take them directly to the theatre, so minimal walking is involved.
Yes, there is free parking available for all activities at the homestead. They ask for you to park at the main entrance (by the restaurant) unless you are enjoying the adventure park activities or Inspiration Tower. Trams are available to take customers down to the theatre and back up to the parking lot after the show.
